Our Story
Born under the cypress.
Texas Drift Co. started at a fish camp on stilts, where moss hangs from the bald cypress and the water runs slow and green. We kept coming back with the same idea: Texas fly fishing should have a brand of its own.

A lot of fly fishing culture assumes you live near a trout stream. Here in Texas, you’re more likely to be throwing a popper at a tank, wet-wading a limestone creek in July, or watching a redfish push water across a flat in a 20-knot south wind.
That’s the fishing we love, and it’s what Texas Drift Co. covers: the native fish, the flies that catch them, and the waters they live in, from the Piney Woods to the Rio Grande Valley.
Texas first
Our patterns, gear notes and guides are written for Texas fish and Texas water. Nothing is copied over from trout country.
Every kind of water
A stock tank counts as much as a bonefish flat. We cover the water you can actually drive to this weekend.
Leave it better
Release the natives, respect private banks and public access, and pick up the trash you find on the way out.
